Starting
Out
The early years of a child’s life, from birth
through age 5, are similar in many ways to
when he learns to ride a tricycle. He’ll be
unsteady at first, because he’s still developing
his fine and gross motor skills. He may just
want to sit and turn the handlebars back and
forth, or yank the tricycle on its side to spin
the wheels — over and over and over again.
