BE SURE YOUR PROPOSAL ALIGNS WITH:
OUR GEOGRAPHIC AREAS OF INTEREST
We consider grant proposals that benefit people in communities where our founder, Mr. Chester E. Dekko, had an interest during his lifetime. Those communities are:
- Alabama: Limestone County
- Indiana: DeKalb, LaGrange, Kosciusko, Noble, Steuben and Whitley counties
- Iowa: Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, and Union counties
- Minnesota: Norman County
OUR CONCENTRATION ON YOUNG PEOPLE
Our grantmaking is focused on projects that support the healthy development of children from birth to age 18.
OUR DESIRE TO INVEST IN SPECIFIC RESULTS
When considering proposals in each of our grantmaking areas of interest, we look for specific results that we believe will most directly help us accomplish our mission. You can read more about those areas of interests via the following links:
YOU’RE JUST A FEW STEPS AWAY FROM SENDING US YOUR PROPOSAL.
We look forward to seeing your ideas for making great things happen for children and young people. Just click the link below and you’ll be directed to our online application portal.
Our online portal is designed to walk you through the application process. Certain questions will have brief explanations to help you understand the information we’re seeking. It will also ask you what you’re requesting an investment for:
- A program or service
- Operating support
- Constructing or remodeling a facility
- Growing your organization’s capacity
- Engaging young people in philanthropy
BUT BEFORE YOU APPLY, PLEASE READ THIS
We wanted to take a brief moment to remind our grantseekers and grantees that we recently transitioned to a new online application portal.
If you already have an account with us, just click on the below link. You will be directed to our new application portal. There, you can click on “Forgot Password” and type in your email address. You then will receive an email with a temporary password that you can use to log in to our new system and create a permanent password for your account. For users who are new to our online portal, please click on the “Create New Account” button.
In some instances, we may need to take the additional step of activating a user’s account. If you run into that, please reach out to Payton Hunley, our grants and program associate, at phunley@dekkofoundation.org and she’ll be happy to help so you can work on your application or grant reports. And as always, if you have any questions about any of this, please call us at 260-347-1278.
